- 4 medium ripe tomatoes, diced
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar (optional)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 baguette or Italian loaf, sliced
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
-
Prepare the tomato mixture: In a medium bowl, combine diced tomatoes, basil, garlic, olive oil, balsamic vinegar (if using), salt, and pepper. Mix well and let sit for at least 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
