  • Author: Lauren Bennett
  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 12 deviled eggs (6 servings) 1x
  • Diet: Low Calorie

Description

Classic deviled eggs are a timeless, savory appetizer perfect for parties, picnics, and family gatherings. Creamy, tangy, and just the right amount of spice, these deviled eggs are a crowd favorite and easy to make with just a few simple ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 large eggs
  • 3 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp white vinegar or lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Paprika, for garnish
  • Optional: chopped fresh chives or parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Boil the Eggs: Place the eggs in a saucepan and cover them with water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, turn off the heat, cover the pan, and let the eggs sit for 10-12 minutes.
  2. Cool the Eggs: Drain the hot water and run cold water over the eggs to cool them. Peel the eggs once they are cool enough to handle.
  3. Prepare the Filling: Slice the eggs in half lengthwise. Carefully remove the yolks and place them in a small bowl. Mash the yolks with a fork until smooth.
  4. Mix the Filling: Add mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, vinegar (or lemon juice), salt, and pepper to the mashed yolks. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  5. Fill the Eggs: Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into the egg white halves.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle paprika over the top and garnish with chopped chives or parsley, if desired. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.
